Hi everyone,
I have to apologise for not blogging for such a long time. To be fair not a vast amount was happening on the wedding prep front until about 2 weeks ago. In a very short space of time we have nearly organised the honeymoon, brought candle holders for the tables, discovered one of the bridesmaids will be bringing her new born baby to the wedding and we might be having our favourite vicar officiate for us.
So lets start at the beginning. Honeymoon. We have been using a travel councior to help us with our plans. Travel councilors work from home but have access to all networks for travel agents and are abta protected. Pauline has done some investigation forus and provided us three really wonderful options. We could
1. Hawaii, (always the first choice)
2.Safari in Kenya with 5 nights on safari and 6 nights in Mobasa on the beach.
3. Rail trip from Boston to New York, Philidelphia then Washington DC.
We really like the sound of all three and can't make a decision. We are hoping inspration will hit us and suddenly we will be able to make a decision.
Then the bridesmaid who is PREGNANT!!!!! Very exciting news. Vicky is pregnant and will be due on the 5th June. Very exciting news for all concerned. I ws Vicky's bridesmaid last year and am very happy for her and Jon. However obviously making her dress is now going to pose, shall we say, challenges!
And candle holders for tables, thanks be to the god of Ikea. Perfect colour, perfect size and only 80p!!!
Works are progressing well on Quinny. After a lot of hard work by my dad and Dave she is now living at home in our garage and she has had her brakes re worked. Dave is currently fixing her speedo, and has started work on some of the wiring so possibly by the end of this weekend she will be roadworthy again.
Oh and then there is the vicar situation! It just so happens that on the 4th July next year the curate from our church in Botley is being ordained. Therefore our normal vicar will be busy with that, as will most of the choir and the bell ringers. So we can have a stand in vicar which the church can organise for us, but we have come up with a cunning plan. The vicar of Dave's old church in Bristol retired a few years ago. Ray christened Dave and it was our plan for a long time to get married in Bristol preferably by Ray. When Ray retired that plan was obviously foiled. However Dave spoke to the church administrator at our church today who said they would be happy if we had our own vicar and it is more comman than you would think, as often people have a friend, family member etc who is a member of the cloth. So we will be calling Ray presently to see if he would be happy to consider it for us
So yes, busy. And I still need to order my dress!
